miss_tress: (It Stinks!)

I am vexed.

One of my links off to the right has been hijacked. It keeps redirecting me to other pages. I know it's not a problem with the actual site because I can get there if I type the name in myself or click a link on another page.

Does anybody have any ideas how to fix it?

And if it matters, it's the link to Chris's Invincible Super-Blog.

That's weird! I don't know why it's doing that - have you informed Chris? Maybe it's on his end.

Do you think it could be? It's weird because if I type the address into the bar it still goes to his page and when I go to Rachelle's 'Living Between Wednesday' and click on her link to his page it still works. It's just my link

Hmm, I don't know how it could happen - but Rachelle's blog is not from LiveJournal... maybe it's happening here somehow? Like links from LJ are being hijacked?

Interesting. You're being sent to something called 'anyresults.net'. I assume that's a site that redirects you to a random page.

Unfortunately, I can't take a closer look at it, because the domain is blocked by the corporate firewall.

My first theory is that Chris has purposely set up a redirect in his web space, so that anyone coming from lj is sent to anyresults.net. Maybe ljers were hotlinking images from the site, and he messed up the redirect code?

My second theory, is that he's been hacked in a strange and subtle way. If you google "anyresults.net" and click on the first link it may tell you more -- unfortunately that link is also blocked by the firewall, so I can't check it out.

It seems the problem is coming from a hack of old WordPress software. I'm not sure how that applies to me so I think it must be Chris. His site used to actually be on Blogspot before he got his own domain.

And now I see his site is loading really slow, so that's probably it.

Thank you so much for all your very helpful help!

*points below*

It seems it's something that hijacks links from Google and other places.
